Roger Alan Wade is an American singer-songwriter from Chattanooga,Tennessee and currently host an hour-long weekly show, “Big Ass Happy Family Jubilee” on Sirius XM’s Outlaw Country channel with his cousin Johnny Knoxville. Wade is a high caliber journeyman songwriter that has penned songs for country legends such as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, George Jones, Hank Williams, Jr., and others. The work of this self-styled outlaw singer/songwriter embodies toughness and an edginess that is missing from most modern music. His songs are stories delivered with a palpable emotional conviction that unfolds with a poet’s wit and wisdom that leaves the audience wanting more. Whether he is rendering one of his many comedy tunes or his more serious works, Wade never fails to mesmerize with his lyrical genius. “Intelligent, engaging, and darkly realistic”, are a few of the terms used to describe his music and many put his talent in the company of the likes of Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt as a premier songwriter.

Once upon a time, Roger worked in Nashville, writing songs for other folks to record. Guys like Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and, of course, Hank Williams, Jr., who took his song “Country State of Mind” to number one back in 1986. But when Nashville stopped making country music sometime around the early ’90s, Roger went back to Chattanooga and immersed himself in his writing. It was then that he and Johnny Knoxville decided to partner to release Wade’s plethora of songs, both comedic and serious. While, Roger Alan’s early comedy albums gained great popularity, he is most known for his more serious compositions. Roger’s true songwriting genius is delivered through a series of stripped down albums of haunting and timeless songs. His work paints a clear picture that evokes an air of hard luck, hard times, and blown chances all in classic troubadour fashion. Roger Alan Wade’s music embodies a life with all of the joys and sorrows that come with it, laid bare and presented to the listener. No sugar and no artificial flavors, just the truth.
